My BFFIMH (Best Friend Forever in My Head… Duh!) Beyonce (Who else?!) has done it again!

With the release of her highly entertaining workout video aimed at getting today’s youth moving towards healthier lifestyles for the Michelle Obama, “Let’s Move” campaign, Bey is motivating all of us!

Jill Scott and The A Group

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Hollywood Listening Party for one of my all time favorite artists Jill Scott’s new album, “Light of the Sun.”

Jilly from Philly NEVER disappoints…ever!  I sang at the top of my lungs and sweat my hair out on a “school night!”

With a bolder than ever voice, a new home at Warner Brothers and incredible new background singers who go by the name, “The A Group” ( these girls can sang!!) Jill is poised to run to the top of the charts!

Here’s a look at the just released video for, “Shame,” one of the hottest songs on the album.  Jill and the girls were styled by the incomparable Susan Moses!

I can’t wait to hear the album in its entirety this summer when it’s released.

Kaylea Moss

I was pleasantly surprised as I was perusing the aisles at my local CVS (a favorite pastime) when I saw a familiar face!  One of my favorite people and nicest models in the industry, Kaylea Moss has a new campaign for Dove Visible Care!

I’m super proud! Congrats, Kaylea and kudos to Dove for continually recognizing beauty at any size!

Barbie Gets Real

In an effort to bring awareness to National Eating Disorders Awareness Month, Galia Slayen decided to create a life-sized Barbie based on the iconic dolls dimensions. 

If Barbie were a real person she would be about six feet tall, and have 39-18-33 Bust-Waist-Hip measurements.

Slayen, a former anorexic, fashioned her Barbie in a size “00″ jean skirt that she herself wore in the midst of her disease.

I think this is a powerful message on body image and the effects it has on girls, young and old alike.

Shaun Ross

Pop Star Katy Perry has a brand new, visually stunning video for her new single, “E.T.” featuring Kanye West.  The real star of the video is not West or Perry but model, Shaun Ross.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shaun a few years ago as we both stood on line to audition for BET’s Rip the Runway and we reconnected in hair and make up this past season of the show.

Shaun is simply beautiful and his personality shines even brighter than the incredible future he has undoubtedly cemented for himself.  He’s found a way to own what makes him different and use it to his advantage.  We could all learn lots from Mr. Ross!

Mia Amber Rips The Runway

BET has brought sexy back again with the taping of the 2011 edition of Rip the Runway hosted by stunning supermodel Selita Ebanks and handsome actor/model Mehcad Brooks!

I am elated to have been asked back to RTR to walk for mega plus designer Tennille White.  Here’s a sneak peek of me on the runway and as I get more media in, I’ll happily share it with you!

Soul crooner (and quite the gentleman) Lloyd serenaded us on the runway!

Mia Amber Davis for Ashley Stewart

Last month I had one of the best days ever as I was invited to shoot a new spring campaign for my very first fashion client, Ashley Stewart!

It’s always an awesome time on set with the beautiful folks of AS!  I will always be eternally grateful to Ashley Stewart for taking a chance on me and giving me my first big break in modeling!

Here’s a photo from my very first pro photo shoot ever and it was for Ashley Stewart!

It’s one of my all time favorite shots because it was such a momentous day for me and I felt on top of the world!

Kudos to Ashley Stewart for using larger models (like me!) in a time where the plus fashion industry is not being very supportive of models over a size 12.  If you also appreciate that– let AS know and tell them I sent you!

I was looking for a way to rejuvenate my tired, cracked up, winter worn skin and purely by accident  at the local CVS, I fell in love!

Olay body butter with jojoba is amazing! Not only is my skin soft as ever but it has a nice glow to it to boot! I find that I don’t even need to slather on the lotion before I step out the door!

If body washes are not your thing I also have an old stand by product that I love to use at least once a month…

Bath and Body Works has a line of Aromatherapy products including a fantastic sugar scrub! The one pictured above is a calming sleep scrub but they come in a variety of therapeutic scents.  Be sure to choose a scent you love because it stays with you for hours!  With just the right mix of body oil and exfoliating “sugar” it’s using it is like having a spa experience in your shower!
