WBLS 35th Anniversary Runway Show
On Saturday, August 1 I had the pleasure of walking for legendary fashion designer, Douglas Says at the WBLS NY 35th Anniversary runway show held at Grant’s Tomb as a part of Harlem Fashion Week.
There were thousands in attendance to watch the show which was kicked off by speakers, singers and performances by Gospel legends (and some of my faves), Rev. Hezekiah Walker, Karen Clark-Sheard
and legend in the making Kiki Sheard.
I thoroughly enjoyed their sets and got my praise on in while getting my hair and make up done!
Immediately following the runway show the sky opened up and it rained so hard you wouldn’t believe it! Plus models and good friends Laura Johnson
and Jeannie Ferguson (who wasn’t in this show but came to show support)
and I had to huddle in the doorway of a nearby church in an effort not to get washed away!
When it finally stopped raining 20 minutes later, the sun was once again blazing and a double rainbow dazzled over Harlem! It was really beautiful.
The HFW wraps up next weekend and I hope to have some pics to show you from that runway show as well.
