Season two of RuPaul’s Drag Race recently debuted and I am as hooked as I was during season one. RuPaul remains Queen of All Queens but this season’s cast has a bit more bite than the first time around.
While watching the most recent episode I was floored to find out that unfortunately some things are universal.
The fabulous Mystique is the only Queen of size on this season’s show and because she wasn’t “tall and skinny” she was chosen last to compete in a team challenge.
Watching that night, I learned that Drag Queens (who as a community are constantly fighting for civil rights) can be as closed-minded and discriminatory as the rest of society when it comes to beauty ideals.
