So… today was not the greatest day. I got bad (non-tragic) news and proceeded to run through a plethora of emotions from disbelief to anger. I literally tried to walk it off and in the midst of my walk, I looked up and as Oprah would say, I had an “Ah-Ha moment.”
I saw a bird’s nest…
It was at that moment that I realized how intricate life is and how much time it takes to obtain the things we want most in life. Think about it. Tiny birds travel back and forth carrying tiny branches, rocks and whatever else may help them reach their goal of building a home. Once they find that perfect little something they weave it into the other perfect somethings they’ve found and build up their foundations until, Voila! It’s done.
Anything we want in life is like that bird’s nest. It takes time to obtain the things that are worth it and it takes patience and care to nurture them into existence.
If you’ve picked up bad habits, it will take time to undo them. If you have your heart set on a specific career it will take time to work your way up and so on.
Don’t be discouraged if things don’t go well… Just. Keep. Going. Celebrate the victories you have and don’t get thrown off track by the defeats.
You may sometimes be disappointed but don’t EVER be deterred.
